As a Manager of Web Development, you'll be responsible for leading a team of web application developers across various concurrent projects, including new projects, enhancements, and modifications. Must possess the ability to decipher sometimes ambiguous/conceptual requirements and guide the development team in providing desired capabilities. Assume the role of a servant-leader, leading by example, and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the planning and designing of software and web applications, including new programs, enhancements, and modifications
  • Provides guidance to the development team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between development and other teams
  • Manages all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines,specifications, and budgets. Implements performance metrics and prepares periodic reports. Monitors and tracks project progress and reports findings to leadership team
  • Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry
  • Develops proposals, hardware/software changes and other capital expenditure projects
  • Manages professional and non-exempt employees, conducting work performance reviews and ensures work performance is adhering to company standards. Mentors, trains and develops staff
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in web application development + operations
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, managing a team of 5+ web developers, including HR functions (coaching, incremental performance evaluation, corrective action)
  • 5+ years of experience with dynamic project/resource prioritization and working directly with business clients
  • 3+ years leading agile delivery teams
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years managing or contributing to applications running in the public or private cloud (Azure, AWS, Openstack, OpenShift or equivalent) 
  • Healthcare IT experience 
  • Experience with rapid product delivery using CI/CD technologies (Jenkins, Sonar, Fortify) 
  • Experience owning applications delivered in a DevOps model 
  • Previous experience managing onsite and remote/offshore team members
  • Experience with public-facing, high volume transactional web applications
