Position Summary

This role is responsible for trade relations (with the exception of generics) within pharmacy procurement including, but not limited to Brand Manufacturers, the Diabetic Category, Specialty Manufacturers, vendor marketing programs and compliance programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships with Brand and Specialty manufacturers to acquire partnership opportunities, determine ROI and market analysis for new launches, take advantage of stocking opportunities, as well as improve Brand COGS and attain supply on Specialty limited distribution drugs
  • Oversee & coordinate process for manufacturer rebates, manage vendors against contract terms & ensure accurate forecasting to this process
  • Direct the monitoring of the wholesaler agreement compliance while managing market share agreements
  • Develop a strategy for direct purchasing of Branded products to improve margins and build partnerships
  • Develop and project sales & margin forecasts in regards to Brand & Specialty drugs
  • Ensure accuracy of end to end process in regards to Brand & Specialty drugs from all financial systems, from store to general ledger
  • Prepare & forecast revenue from all compliance programs
  • Manage Brand & Specialty marketing opportunities, forecasting income and coordinating with pharmacy marketing
  • Manage contract processing within Giant Eagle pharmacy and legal teams including prioritization and budget process
  • Participate in the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) as opportunities for Brand and Specialty medications arise
  • Act as a Merchandising liaison to the clinical teams and Specialty teams
  • Support the Clinical team in the acquisition and distribution of all vaccinations
  • Design, Implement and Execute the Giant Eagle Flu sourcing and distribution program annually
  • Act as a liaison between the manufacturer, Giant Eagle Health and Beauty and Pharmacy on cross-over / Over the Counter (OTC) item sets such as diabetes and assist in development of planograms and marketing programs for these products
  • Responsible for budget development, expense control and/or revenue generation for a department. Amount of Budgetary Responsibility: \\$5mm +
