Position Summary

Drive competitive advantage and value creation in Own Brands (OB) for a set of categories. Leads all OB go to market efforts including, but not limited to, opportunity identification, sourcing, packaging design, pricing, promotion, space allocation, and marketing

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Own Brand category reviews (deep dives) to inform range/assortment, quality pricing, promotion, packaging, shelf decisions to positively impact brand and total category profitability.Coordinate overall product development process- spec development, supplier identification, supplier interaction, product reviews.
  • Define and propose OB strategy and objectives during annual review, to be aligned with VP and Cat Director
  • Direct OB sourcing initiatives to maximize quality and profitability. Directly negotiate cost of goods with external suppliers.
  • Partner with Category Director(s) to develop and ensure execution of AOP, business plans, LOB plans to achieve OB sales, margin and share targets.
  • Conduct ongoing research and benchmarking to implement innovative ideas for OB to ensure programs are industry leading.
  • Provide input to marketing team to ensure marketing strategy supports category plan goals and objectives.
  • Serve as key strategic leader on internal cross functional teams and special projects
  • Consult with OB leadership on OB packaging design including drafting creative briefs, reviewing competitive audits against national brands and peer OBs to achieve best in class designs. Partner with agency and internal stakeholders to continuously improve process to drive increased speed to shelf.
  • Assist in prioritization of quality and sensory reviews. Partner with quality and executive chef teams to improve product quality. Facilitate reformulations with co-manufacturers as required.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree
