Description

The Market Development Professional 2 provides support to assigned health plan and/or specialty companies relative to Medicare/Medicaid/TRICARE product implementation, operations, contract compliance, and federal contract application submissions. The Market Development Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Market Development Professional 2 serves as the primary resource on regulations for all assigned health plans. Ensures that assigned health plans are meeting or exceeding corporate Medicare/Medicaid/TRICARE performance benchmarks. Maintains relationships with regulators within a region. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

               

  • Elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and validate high-quality business requirements for new platforms or enhancements to existing applications
  • Review and analyze processes, documentation, and data to identify gaps in the effectiveness of Humana’s Medicaid/LTSS/Duals environment
  • Lead and facilitate working groups of end users to identify and prioritize enhancements to existing applications
  • Ensure that business requirements are properly documented, such as use cases, user stories, process flow charts, screen mock-ups, test scenarios, and test cases
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with all impacted business areas and internal customers
  • Serve as liaison between the business and IT stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Technology, or a related field
  • Technical writing experience
  • Consulting experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Self-directed and highly motivated
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment while managing multiple project simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across a highly matrixed organization, interacting, influencing, negotiating effectively with all levels of leadership and peers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SDLC processes
  • Knowledge of Humana’s internal policies, procedures and systems
