Market Practice Advisor - El Paso, TX

The Market Practice Advisor will provide direct coaching support to practices and make improvements in systems and delivery of care. They will improve patient care, patient experience, clinic processes & clinical outcomes, increase efficiencies that will result in increased patient, provider and health care team satisfaction. All of this will be done via process and practice redesign. Work with physicians / providers and staff he/she supports with meeting quality performance or New WellMed objectives through data collection (as needed), data analysis, process outcome evaluation, and other quality improvement methods. 
 
They will develop strong effective relationships with a group of practices in an assigned market, generally not less than 8 practices in a given period of time, in order to help the practices progress toward a desired transformational change.  Work with leadership and the practices to identify opportunities to improve efficiency or eliminate waste while also serving as a role model and mentor.  Work with within the existing organizational framework (not limited to):  Clinic Operations, especially their clinic leadership dyads for their assigned market; the leadership for New WellMed Experience initiatives; Clinical Education and Program Administration, and with all supporting cross functional departments.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serves in a lead capacity and is accountable to the objectives for multiple initiatives in that assigned market and oversees the life - cycle of the efforts at multiple locations
  • Establish and maintain a collegial role with WellMed practices engaged in improvement / transformational activities and will document the practices progress throughout that change
  • Facilitate efficient, effective improvement team meetings with assigned practices. (Role modeling these skills so that there will be an increasing clinic independence over time.)
  • Assist and support enterprise shared knowledge by summarizing and disseminating assigned market updates, cross pollinating of best practices, and participating in team symposiums
  • Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for the practices to assist with deploying and sustaining enterprise efforts
  • Teach and implement improvement tools and methodology (not limited to):
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Current - Future State Analysis
    • Time Studies
    • Shadowing / Interviewing
  • Perform complex business analysis using appropriate project tools and conducts focus group interviews, research initiatives and identifies best practices to ensure overall change success
  • Supports integration with other related initiatives;
    • Have an awareness of all enterprise efforts occurring in assigned market
    • Have established communication with the market leadership to inform them on how the integration efforts are progressing
    • Have the skill set to assist the practices in the integration
  • Ensures appropriate communication with key stakeholders occurs:
    • Conduct regular meetings with assigned clinics
    • Conduct regular meetings with the assigned market leadership
    • Complete timely and appropriate documentation of all market activity
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gain support and buy in for proposed solution / improvement
  • Adheres to the process management system to monitor key performance indicators
  • Will synthesize data, develop recommendations, and review findings with clinic leadership and other supporting departments at close of project / end of effort (or ad - hoc)
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (8 years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree)
  • 7+ years of progressive responsibility with process improvement initiatives
  • Experience with process mapping methodology and creating process maps
  • Project Management, or Six Sigma, and / or Business Process Analysis experience
  • Proven ability to successfully conceptualize an initiative, develop a plan and execute the plan through implementation
  • Experience in mobilizing teams and maintaining motivation to accomplish goals under stringent timelines
  • Ability to interact one - on - one and consult with all levels of management and staff
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Working knowledge of Share Point
  • Must be willing to travel at least 80% of the time within local territory and up to 25% outside of local territory as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience
  • Green Belt / Black Belt Certification
