Community Outreach Specialist supports and initiates outreach strategies to support members and drive membership and retention. This Position is the liaison for community and faith based organizations in assigned territory. This Position will support the Manager and Outreach Team with member innovation, new product and program launches, and special projects as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Supports accounts in assigned territory, including but not limited to representing UnitedHealthcare at meetings, events, conferences, and resource tables
  • Establishes new relationships and maintains existing ones with faith based and community based organizations, in addition to other organizations that serve the Medicaid population
  • Collaborates with cross functional departments and supports Outreach team members as assigned
  • Identifies partnership opportunities and develop and executes  outreach strategy in assigned territory
  • Shares our mission to help Iowans live healthier lives, throughout the communities we service
  • Executes, plans and coordinates resources for conferences, resource tables and sponsorship events 
  • Meets or exceeds monthly outreach expectations for retention and enrollment within assigned territory
  • Inputs and consistently maintains all related account data in Sales Force platform.  Analyzes and leverages Sales Force account data to maximize outreach 
  • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise in territory
 


Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED required            
  • 2+ years of Community Outreach field experience       
  • Proficiency Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents)            
  • Proficiency Microsoft Excel (filtering, sorting, creating and editing)            
  • Must be able to travel within territory and work evenings & weekends, when required           

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred             
  • 1+ years of experience with Medicaid            
  • Sales Force experience
