Job Description Details:

The Medical Technologist/MLT performs phlebotomy and laboratory testing. Has knowledge of the clinical significance of results, monitors and understands operation of instrumentation, and reports results accurately and rapidly.

Responsibilities   

  • Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care
  • Practices established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
  • Performs non-technical tasks and indirect patient care activities as required by the situation.
  • Provides patient and family education relative to phlebotomy and expectations related to the process.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field with certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent certification
  • Ability to assist Patient Care staff with Phlebotomy
