The Medicare Advantage Product Director plays a vital role in the planning and execution of key strategic initiatives and product innovation to ensure UHC’s Medicare Advantage products are distinctive and successful in the market. This position influences the priorities of the business and helps execute strategic and tactical solutions to achieve the short and long-term goals of M&R. The Product Director is part of the Medicare Advantage Product Strategy Team and reports to the VP of Medicare Advantage Product.
Conceptualize, design, and manage key strategic initiatives to advance our Medicare Advantage products and enhance UHC’s value proposition
Convert abstract ideas and long-term objectives into actionable deliverables
Develop and articulate to senior executives the business case for new initiatives and innovation opportunities
Build project schedules and drive accountability as the leader of cross-functional teams including internal and external partners
Proactively identify new strategic areas of focus for UHC’s Medicare Advantage business based on market trends, consumer insights, and data analytics. Collect, analyze, and present in-depth information on emerging product development opportunities
Work with Medicare Advantage Product team in creating and delivering industry-leading ancillary benefit offerings
Understand the financials of the business to ensure the economics of proposed enhancements or innovations are reasonable and profitable
Facilitate the delivery of cross-functional special projects or initiatives in a matrix organization
- BS / BA in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience delivering product, program, or project support for large, complex organizations
- Functional and cross-functional area experience to coordinate matrix resources in order to design and sell complex solutions
- Able to work with and communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Experience with Medicare products or managed care organizations
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, strong project management skills, proficient computer and writing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Detail and accuracy orientation
