The Meeting Recruitment Associate is an integral member of the relationship management team who interacts with member institutions on a daily basis in order to provide member service, secure attendance at national meetings, and participate in critical department initiatives.  The Associate drives the team toward hitting aggressive meeting recruitment goals.    This position is based in Washington, D.C. and is part of the Advisory Board, a subsidiary of Optum/UnitedHealth Group.   Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and execute against strategic outreach campaigns to member organizations for 4-6 national meeting series
  • Communicate with current client organizations using creative outreach methods via phone and email
  • Coordinate with Client Management teams to identify target contacts and organizations for recruitment outreach based on Advisory Board relationships, past attendance, overall member service strategy, and recruitment goals
  • Proactively identify and elevate recruitment trends and barriers
  • Regularly collaborate with research program leaders, Digital Marketing, and Events and Member Support to ensure seamless, streamlined recruitment and retention efforts
  • Innovate on recruitment strategy to elevate the member experience and consistently improve outcomes
  • Share best practices and recruitment expertise with colleagues in Client Management
  • Manage toward personal outreach results and department meeting recruitment goals
  • Maintain a working knowledge of research agendas and program content to inform member interactions
  • Respond to member requests and inquiries in timely and efficient manner. Escalate to Client Management teams as needed
  • Play an integral role in helping to strengthen relationships with member institutions
  • Support special projects and tasks as necessary and appropriate
  • Coordinate with Client Management and Operations leaders to ensure initiatives and projects are meeting their specific needs

Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Excellent academic record
  • Must possess at least two of the following:
    • Leadership experience
    • Customer service experience
    • Experience working in a team environment
    • Sales or fundraising experience
    • Experience in an office setting
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone with executives
  • Demonstrates poise, maturity, and resilience with internal and external audiences
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities; demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks and activities efficiently and according to importance
  • Ability to take initiative on projects and through customer service interactions
