Title Mgr Network Finance Position Posting Location Buffalo Status Full Time Regular Hours As required Job Description The Manager, network Finance oversees a team that provides all financial support required by the Network Operations and Provider / Vendor Contracting teams. The incumbent administers financial components of current reimbursement arrangements with providers and medical vendors and provides financial analysis and perspective on initiatives under consideration. The Manager collaborates with the Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to lead a wide range of budget, forecast, and financial close responsibilities for the Network Finance team; as well as produces and continuously improves regular reporting on unit cost trends and other key measures of Network performance. Primary Responsibility - Leads a team of financial and actuarial analysts; creates and maintains a culture of continuous improvement through coaching around technical and non-technical areas, establishes goals and monitors performance, assesses and differentiates exceptional performance, encourages innovative thinking and initiative in actions
- Establishes and develops a consultative relationship with all internal customers overseeing medical vendor and provider interactions
- Builds trust, stays informed about ongoing initiatives and encourages financially beneficial outcomes through these relationships
- Provides financial support for strategic decisions and contract negotiations proposed by the Network Operations and Provider / Vendor Contracting teams through utilization of objective data and application of financial models
- Establishes schedules and a structured approach to all recurring responsibilities; budget, forecast, financial close, contractual settlements with providers / vendors
- Rigidly adheres to schedules and keeps internal customers informed of unpreventable delays or issues with recurring processes
- Leads the budgeting and forecasting processes as it relates to unit cost increases, physician and facility incentive programs, vendor relationships, and other nonstandard network relationships
- Tracks and reports on corporate performance against these goals
- Develops standardized tools, data warehouses, and reporting and analytical packages to provide insight into corporate unit cost position and other key measures of Network performance
- Continuously improves subject matter expertise in areas of responsibility
- Communicates issues and financial results in presentations and meetings to members of the organization at various levels
- Encourages collaboration and consensus; facilitates the review of major financial deliverables by the Network area prior to publishing the results to internal or external customers
Knowledge and Skills - Possesses strong understanding of financial principles and specifically the financial drivers of the healthcare industry
- Strong technical acumen and ability to understand functionality of reporting and analytical tools such as Excel, MS Access and Cognos, as well as familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate financial conclusions clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization (technical and non-technical) and with outside contractors and vendors
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop a team
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining quality standards and meeting assigned deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision
Experience - Requires a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a financial analysis role within the Heath Care industry, or related field, including at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience
- ASA, FSA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred
Education Required Education:

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related area of study required
- Master's Degree preferred
Working Conditions - Must be able to occasionally attend off-site meetings, events, conferences
- Must be able to work in an office environment
- Must have ability and access to work from remote location such as home
- Travel time required - less than 10%
