In collaboration and coordination with the broader Enterprise Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) Team, you will be responsible for managing the multitude of occupational health and infection prevention projects under the purview of UnitedHealth Group’s (UHG) Enterprise Occupational Health. This includes oversight of programs, such as Tuberculosis Screening, Bloodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Protection, Immunizations and Vaccinations, infectious disease prevention, public health events, system project improvements and occupational health integration of new acquisitions. This position contributes to company efforts to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, protect the workforce and reduce liability and associated costs by minimizing risk for occupational illness or exposures.

Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Creating and managing to project plans for multiple, concurrent occupational health projects
  • Managing occupational health compliance for new mergers and acquisitions
  • Collaborating with the EOHS team to provide oversight, administration, growth and development of UnitedHealth Group’s occupational health programs including Tuberculosis Screening, Bloodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Protection, Infection Prevention, Annual Flu and Immunizations and Vaccinations
  • Managing profiles and documenting processes of all UHG business with occupational health requirements
  • Provide programmatic and technical support to occupational health team
  • Creating and maintaining department organizational resources and templates
  • Anticipating customer needs and, in collaboration with the team and under leadership guidance, proactively developing solutions to meet them
  • Coordinating with local public health agencies to meet state reporting requirements and public health laws
  • Maintaining the library of occupational health resources, including policies, protocols, job aids, trainings and fact sheets
  • Managing the development of new policies, procedures and training curriculum in coordination with the EOHS team
  • Collaborating with the EOHS team to update and maintain related company policies and programs in accordance with federal, state and local legislation and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership to meet growing and evolving business needs


Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working in project management, managing multiple projects simultaneously and excellent project management skills
  • 2+ years of experience working in an occupational health, public health or infection prevention role
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Visio
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working at UnitedHealth Group
  • Master degree in Public Health or other advanced degree
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience working with Medgate/Cority
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills (e.g., MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Occupational Health / OSHA programs such as health screenings, respiratory protection and bloodborne pathogens
  • Additional certifications or designations including PHN, CIC, COHN, etc.
