The Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant is an individual with appropriate education, training and licensure who provides assistance, instruction, supervision and specific treatment to patients under the supervision of a licensed therapist as defined by discipline in the State Practice Act. This individual must understand treatment plan and procedure modifications that are specific to early adult, middle adult and late adult patients. The Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for documentation of patient treatment, patient charges, and other information as needed. The staff COTA may be responsible for the supervision of COTA students and rehabilitation operations assistants as needed.
