This is an exciting opportunity to join a team and function committed to providing Wells Fargo with world-class risk management. The Operational Risk Group continues to build out a world-class risk management capability.

The Operational Risk Reporting Team is primarily responsible for the quarterly Operational Risk report where we highlight various operational risks and themes across Wells Fargo’s businesses and risk organizations. Additionally, we work on various strategic initiatives to support the evolving and complex risk landscape and limit the impacts various emerging risks might have on our business.

As a team member, this position will be responsible for

  • Working with the larger team in the preparation of quarterly reporting for senior management and the board of directors
  • Works with the most complex business units and provides operational risk expertise and consulting for operational risk reporting and initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business groups and risk types
  • Designs and develops, methodologies and analyses; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls, analyzes extremely complex business and/or system changes to determine impact; identifies operational risk issues and may participate in the development of risk ratings
  • Identifies training opportunities; designs/coordinates the development of training materials and coordinates or delivers training
  • Reports findings and develops business cases to influence executive management or management committee member/head of business on the need for controls to mitigate risk
  • May lead project/virtual teams and mentors lower level staff. He or she must also be able to foster relationships across the enterprise and be able to quickly adjust to a dynamically shifting environment
  • Collaborate with project managers, group risk officers, group operational risk officers, team leads and technical teams to ensure successful and impactful reporting
Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • SharePoint experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
  • Tableau experience
  • MS SQL server experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of compiling and preparing executive summaries, whitepaper, and presentations for management/senior leaders
Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
  • Experience gathering data from multiple sources, creating reports and summaries while adhering to regulations and policies
  • Ability to create strategic messaging relevant to different audiences and business needs, and gain buy-in from business partners.
  • Proven experience monitoring various risk, working with multiple LOB developing solutions and translating information into a concise, meaningful summary for multiple audiences.
  • Proven ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, including ability to influence and drive timely decision making.
