In this position you will provide analytic and operational oversight of the behavioral health program.  You will be accountable for ensuring that operational performance is meeting or exceeding standards, providing timely and accurate contractual and operational reporting and identifying process improvement opportunities within operations.
 
If you are located in the Greater Somerville, MA area, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of end - to - end business process activities - creating, controlling and improving business processes
  • Oversight of client-specific Optum behavioral health reporting to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports to the client
  • Coordinating with Optum clinical leadership, including the client-specific Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director, to ensure the behavioral health team has the information, tools and support needed to be successful
  • Monitoring of operational and contractual performance and engaging functional leaders across the Optum enterprise for risk and issue resolution
  • Leading process design and project teams in process improvement activities; developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement using applicable tools
  • Synthesizing information across the behavioral health program to clearly communicate issues, risks and mitigation plans to all appropriate stakeholders
  • Translating technical and/or regulatory needs (e.g., analytics; IT) into business operations processes
  • Planning and execution of projects to ensure compliance with state operational and reporting requirements
  • Coordinating with client operational leads and other external stakeholders to ensure effective integration of the Optum behavioral program with client programs

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience with operations, analytics and reporting, preferably within health care
  • Excellent analytic, negotiation and communication skills
  • Understanding of process management and total quality management principles and methodologies
  • Ability to drive outcomes without direct authority
  • 5+ years of Customer / consultant relationship management experience
  • Travel - up to 25% regionally
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience interacting with and presenting to C-suite professionals
  • Experience in Medicaid populations for health care and/or managed care
