Optum Chart Operations is seeking an experienced operations leader.  This leader will be responsible for driving ops transformation around production metrics, skill development, process controls, capacity utilization, and management and vision to effectively grow the organization. This leader must effectively collaborate with cross-functional peers to meet and exceed our service expectations, as well as, the current and strategic needs of our clients.  This role will continue driving the development of the necessary infrastructure (people, process, tools, and controls) for the operations area reporting to them. This position will also coach and mentor coding supervisors through the development process to facilitate a cascading approach.

 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide performance feedback and process guidance to coding supervisors
  • Reporting and data analysis  
  • Leadership, mentoring and day to day oversight of management and administration of large team including remote coding staff  
  • Foster and promote employee engagement  
  • Manage daily operations including multiple levels of staff and multiple services  
  • Direct and lead quality improvement and process transformation initiatives
  • Represent Operations in a manner that is collaborative and consistent with the tactical and long-term strategic plans  
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and remove barriers to achieve common goals  
  • SLA management and reporting  
  • Identify risks and implement controls
  • Work with internal business teams
  • Develop innovative approaches to improve existing processes  
  • Responsible for creating project timelines, plans and resources for assigned initiatives  
  • Ability to drive quality execution across programs  
  • Manage teams through transition across projects and initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED  
  • Experience with management or oversight of 250+ employees
  • 5+ years of experience in operations  
  • 3+ years of experience using operational metrics, data/analytics, goals/objectives and dashboards to run, interpret, and drive business performance
  • Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Excel (filtering data, working with pivot tables, vlook ups, calculations)
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Word (editing, creating, and saving documents)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in operations within the Healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of experience with project management 
  • Ability to produce within a fast paced organization  
  • Superior communication skills  
  • Experience in call-center, finance or healthcare/insurance
