Operations Supervisor, Home Health - Las Vegas, NV

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing all activities related to the day-to-day performance of the home health agency’s scheduling department. The Operations Supervisor acts as an advocate for scheduling department personnel and ensures their efforts positively support Administration, clinical and clerical functions.  This position also works collaboratively with Human Capital, Medical Records, CAS/IS, Finance and other Optum / UHG departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervises office-based staff including Clinical Administrative Coordinators (CAC), Schedulers, Clerks, and other positions that support the delivery of care in the field
  • Develops implements and maintains department procedures that optimize the scheduling of field staff
  • Ensures that all department employees are proficient in these procedures and that compliance with procedures is verified
  • Manages in-bound calls and ensures that all calls are answered promptly and patient and staff needs are met
  • Utilizes a variety of computer applications including the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for scheduling and reports
  • Business Services Liaison (BSL) duties
  • Participates in the quality assessment and performance improvement program
  • Promotes positive customer service at all times, both internally and externally, with interactions with patients, families, referral sources, vendors, and co-workers
  • Assists with the successful on-boarding of new scheduling department employees
  • Maintains and regularly audits employee personnel files in accordance with corporate, state and federal regulations
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and UHG human resources regulatory requirements
  • Assists management with human resource activities including the establishment and implementation of human resource policies
  • Assists management in the implementation of improved work methods and LEAN procedures
  • Ensures on going coaching, mentoring and performance evaluation of all direct reports
  • Participates in the interviewing, selection and retention of new employees
  • Ensures individual development plans are initiated, implemented and monitored for all direct reports
  • Prepares reports and manages assigned projects
  • Responsible for implementation of safety functions and daily facility safety management
  • Participates in agency in-service trainings
  • Engages in an on-going self-development plan to build personal leadership skills, organizational knowledge, and enhanced knowledge of the industry
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in health care (preferably in home health, outpatient clinic or hospital)
  • 1 year supervisory or team lead experience
  • High School Diploma and / or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Experience in scheduling and call center systems
