Pharmacy Practice Administrator - US Telecommute

The Pharmacy Practice Administrator will hold accountability for a variety of administrative and analytic support functions essential in meeting departmental (and organizational) licensing oversight, accreditation and reporting goals across our OptumRx drug distribution facilities. This individual will report to the VP, Professional Practice and Pharmacy Policy with dotted line support to our Pharmacists-in-Charge and Pharmacy Practice Managers.  Primary roles and responsibilities to include, but not limited to, the establishment and execution of protocols to ensure proactive monitoring of facility and staff licensure; facility and systems access; audit preparation and support; quality management documentation; policy and procedure creation; training coordination and other key activity critical to the success of this department’s efforts.  The role will require outstanding organizational skills; team-based mentality; meticulous attention to detail; and excellent interpersonal skills. 


 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Management of quarterly, facility-specific staff licensure audits
  •   Establishing appropriate facility access for new staff upon hire
  •  Auditing (annually) building access for all staff at each facility
  •  Oversight of facility and personal licensure across multiple states in partnership with the broader licensing department
  •  Scanning and posting pharmacy and staff licenses
  •  Sharing license information with OptumRx Licensing Team
  •  Ensuring proper systems access for key staff members
  •  Delivering of high quality reports including appropriate formatting, with minimal supervision
  • Creating custom reports through reporting tools, with forward-thinking objectives
  • Obtaining and sharing key information across State Boards of Pharmacy regarding pre-hires, new hires, terminations and current employee registration status
  • Cross-functional relationship building with various areas of the organization including, but not limited to: Operations, Compliance, Legal, Government Affairs, IT, Licensing and Accreditation/Quality Management
  • Working closely with team members within and across departments to create a more streamlined, less manual and more proficient processes to monitor and manage routine licensing, policy, citation, complaint and training activity
  • Reviewing and maintaining clear and accurate site-specific visitor logs
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations for routine Pharmacy Practice Mgmt Quality and Operations meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
  • Experience in office management
  • Experience in using Microsoft Windows based PC software (this includes Word, Excel, and Outlook creating, saving, editing documents, spreadsheets, and email usage)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
  • Auditing Experience
  • Professional experience with Medical Terminology

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to multitask in a face pace work environment
  • Good communication, verbal and written skills
