POS Project Manager

The POS Project Manager will have working knowledge of POS in various retail venues to provide guidance and participate in requirements, testing and deployment of future POS enhancements. This position requires a complete understanding of our current POS and front end processes across all store formats. Proven project management experience is a must for driving requirements, decisions and deployment strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete understanding of Point of Sale functionality across all Store formats within the company, including mobile Point of Sale
  • Complete understanding of Web and mobile checkout options and functionality
  • Recognize and recommend strategies to align in-store POS, web and mobile solutions into an Omni-Channel Experience for our customers
  • Create and maintain project plans and communicate resource needs and other impacts to business and IT partners
  • A leader in project definition and requirements gathering to define intuitive and efficient POS functionality
  • Mentor, develop and coach other team members in the project definition and requirements gathering process
  • Define testing strategies and plans according to the project timeline; create test scripts and execute them as needed; develop other team members in the same activities
  • Partnership with internal IT and business teams to define deployment/implementation strategies, including Training and Development needs, minimizing impact on the stores and field support
  • Communicate deployments to the stores and field support leveraging our intranet and other communication tools
  • Ongoing research of current and future POS trends (inside and outside of our industry)
  • Partner with the Sr. POS project manager to constantly refine our development backlog of features and requests
  • Communication
    • Ability to identify key areas that require further discussion with a broader audience to reach a resolution
    • Provide insight to corporate teams regarding successes and challenges faced by the stores regarding the execution of a POS transaction
    • Partnership with the field to keep a constant pulse on Customer behavior and it’s impact to our functional and operational processes
  • Store Experience
    • Schedule time to work the front end in stores to gain an understanding of the transactions and cashier interaction that occur
    • Provide insight to the team at corporate regarding successful field practices and opportunities for improvement
    • Partner with other concepts to have a working knowledge of their front end processes and propose consistent processes across all concepts where appropriate


  • 5-10 years of Project Manager experience specifically in retail, PMP preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of POS testing strategies that will ensure functional solutions are delivered to the stores
