As a Post Adoption Intervention Specialist with Georgia Mentor you’ll be one of those special people.
Founded in 1980, The MENTOR Network is a national network of local human services providers offering an array of quality, community-based services in more than 30 states to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain and spinal cord injuries and other catastrophic injuries and illnesses, and to youth with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges as well as their families.
Georgia MENTOR is looking for caring and committed individuals throughout GA who are interested in working with children and families in their homes.
Serving as a part-time Post Adoption Intervention Specialist you can have an amazing impact on the children and families we support. We are seeking dynamic and passionate individuals who can work as part of a team and are committed to providing crisis intervention, assessment, development and community referrals for our families.
Specific tasks include:
· Assist families with all aspects of family development. Ability to locate and /or deliver strength based family-centered and culturally competent services. Maintain creativity, flexibility and optimism about the strengths of children and their families.
· Assist the family in developing a Family Service Plan with clearly defined goals and ensure that all goal setting is mutually established between the client, family and team members.
· Complete all required documentation including log notes, monthly summaries, final reports and assessments in a thorough and professional manner and submit the documents in accordance to established deadlines.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
- · Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
- · 2 years of experience, preferably within a home setting
- · Valid driver’s license in good standing
- · Access to a registered and insured vehicle
- · Successful clearance of background checks including fingerprinting.
