The prep cook supports the kitchen staff in promoting high quality food service. When managers are absent, accepts direction from the head cook. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies and procedures, and PI standards.
Must be able to read and to write. High school diploma preferred. Minimum one year experience in a food service environment in a nursing home or hospital setting.
Skills and Knowledge:
Must be able to read and write, follow recipes, use measurements, have basic experience in cooking, and understand the fundamentals of therapeutic diets. Should be proficiient in performing duties within a three-month time frame. Must be able to plan and organize in order to meet servicing deadlines. Duties are diversified and semi-repetitive. methods and procedures are standardized.
Must have current food handler certificate. CPI and CPR certified.
