Position Summary

"Together we improve people's everyday lives and well-being." As a Giant Eagle Team Member, you will be part of a team that emphasizes building lifelong relationships with our customers by focusing on understanding and exceeding their needs. As a member of the Café team, your primary responsibility will be servicing the customers by filling orders and ensuring they have the freshest products available. In the café, you may be working with our salad bar, sandwich area, hot foods, or kitchen area. As a member of our team, you will also be fully trained to and able to assist customers in other areas in the dining room.

Job Responsibilities

  • Read and execute recipes
  • Work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Complete prep lists quickly and efficiently while maintaining quality
  • Prep duties such as making sauces, dressings, searing, grilling
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
  • Must be willing to taste and season all foods as needed
  • Understand the metric system
  • Comfortable using digital tablets to look up recipes

  • High school diploma or equivalent
