POS COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION (NON-EXEMPT)
The POS Coordinator is a non-exempt position responsible for the assurance of accurate and timely pricing of product, placement and removal of advertised signage and other administrative paperwork as directed by the company. In the absence of a POS Coordinator, it is the responsibility of the General Manager to assign the duties to the POS Coordinators on a daily and weekly basis to ensure product is priced according to company standards and guidelines. The POS Coordinator is also responsible for a variety of duties including cashiering, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining visual standards as directed by store management.

POS COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION (NON-EXEMPT)

The POS Coordinator is a non-exempt position responsible for the assurance of accurate and timely pricing of product, placement and removal of advertised signage and other administrative paperwork as directed by the company.  In the absence of a POS Coordinator, it is the responsibility of the General Manager to assign the duties to the POS Coordinators on a daily and weekly basis to ensure product is priced according to company standards and guidelines.  The POS Coordinator is also responsible for a variety of duties including cashiering, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining visual standards as directed by store management.

THE primary responsibilities of the POS Coordinator INCLUDE:

  • Assist customers utilizing World Market service standards and representing the World Market brand.
  • Execute signage placement for promotional events, schematics and in-store sets. 
  • Complete removal of signage and promotional collateral at the end of every advertised promotional event.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy through the utilization of available tools and resources (including the World Market Weekly, cordless phone, RF unit and store tablet) and validate the execution of all price changes according to company expectations.
  • Delegate execution of signage placement in the Beverage Department as directed (varies by state) and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Communicate failed promos, pricing or signage concerns appropriately.
  • Execute the Price Changes Report and complete the appropriate follow-up.  
  • Maintain a clean, organized and up-to-date work station.
  • Execute additional duties as referenced in the POS Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities supplement.
  • Adhere to all company loss prevention policies and procedures, and distressed merchandise procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 1+ Years’ experience in retail preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills.
  • Ability to initiate a conversation.
  • Basic knowledge of Word/Excel.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

    ‘WITH SERVICE LEADERSHIP’ ROLE

    As a job position, ‘With Service Leadership’ role carries the responsibilities involved in approving register transactions.  This person assumes responsibilities of register procedures and approvals as well as oversees the store for short periods of time in the absence of the General Manager or Supervisors.

    THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ‘SERVICE LEADERSHIP’ DESIGNATION INCLUDES:

  • Answering service calls requiring badge assistance at the registers.
  • Assisting cashiers in providing service to customers at the front-end.
  • Approving refunds, discounts, and other customer requests as outlined in store policies and procedures.
  • Assuming the Front-End Manager role as designated by management.  (This may include monitoring the daily break schedule, shopping cart retrieval, requesting additional cashiers, and service calls to ensure that all customers are being assisted as needed.)
  • Assuming complete store responsibility in short absences of the General Manager or Supervisors.
