As a HouseCalls Product Manager, you will develop the strategy and vision for product roadmaps, establish collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, gather accurate requirements, evaluate product performance for enhancements and effectively managing all aspects of product definition through launch.   As a Product Manager you will understand the product value proposition that is crafted to meet our client’s needs and expectations, as well as member experience, as it relates to the relevant products and services. You will need to understand these attributes at a very deep level, in order to translate market requirements to the downstream functions (clinical, marketing, sales, operations) and clients.  This particular role will focus heavily on building out the HouseCalls product needed support business growth brought on by new external health plans.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business and market needs, support requirements documentation, and translate into functional, non-functional, and/or technical specifications

  • Serve as a strategic knowledge resource facilitating the delivery of capabilities and functionality to support long term Business and product objectives

  • Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment

  • Champion the development of market and sales strategies and value proposition to payers

  • Forecast revenue or savings opportunities associated with product development initiatives

  • Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing

  • Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across multiple functional areas

  • Think strategically to translate a vision of customer experience to processes and requirements

  • Partner with key functional areas to ensure high performance in all areas - operations, clinical value, reporting/measurement, etc.

  • Build effective relationships with customers, product partners across Optum, and other internal stakeholder groups


Required Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in business related field such as healthcare, accounting, finance or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of healthcare payer experience

  • 3+ years of product related experience

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to manage products, people and prioritize deliverables

  • Strong presentation and speaking skills

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Excellent analytical skills for assessing market data and quantifying impact

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and other stakeholders to adopt new ideas, products and / or approaches

  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to explain highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

  • Proficiency in Word, MS Project and Visio (Desired), Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong demonstrated ability to lead business initiatives to a successful result

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Ability to effectively deal with moderate levels of ambiguity, can effectively cope with change, can shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture, comfortably handles risk and uncertainty
