Product Research Consultant - Reimbursement Policies – Telecommute

We’re in search of a Senior Product Research Consultant to join our team.  You will be empowered to guide a team with the following; development and maintenance of UnitedHealthcare policies, cultivation of new project initiatives,, monitor and research third party sources to ensure UnitedHealthcare’ s alignment and identify potential reimbursement opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a collaborative team in the research, development, and implementation of proposed and adopted reimbursement policies

  • Support research and documentation of the impacts to new, changed and deleted codes to UHC reimbursement policies

  • Provide coding and reimbursement policy expertise to UHC departments

  • Ensuring claims are handled in proper accordance with policies

  • Support the review and analysis of third party publications and resources regarding reimbursement and coding standards

  • Support the review of other UnitedHealthcare policies/protocols for potential opportunities

  • Guide the creation and/or maintenance of materials owned within the department

  • Demonstrated ability to work across multifunctional teams

  • Review the work of others

  • Develop innovative approaches

  • Mentor others

 


Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • 1+ years of experience researching Medicaid/Medicare regulations

  • 1+ years of Project Management experience

  • Certified coder via AHIMA or AAPC

  • Knowledge of physician coding methodologies including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs including MS Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Experience leading and facilitating virtual meetings

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment

  • Experience working with Healthcare Billing Practices/Physician Claims

  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies

  • Reimbursement policy experience

  • Experience using SharePoint
