The Provider Advocate (Dental) is responsible for the full range of Medicaid provider relations and service to include interactions with clients, internal stakeholders, and occasionally members. Candidate will be responsible for receiving escalated issues and resolving complex problems, including working on end-to-end provider claims and call quality, ease of use of provider portal and future service enhancements, and training & development of external provider education programs. The Provider Advocate develops the provider dental network yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. The Provider Advocate will initially evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise 
  • Be able to be empathic and have a strong emotional intelligence while working with clients, stakeholders and partnerships
  • Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines
  • Provide explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise
  • This is a telecommuter role and will need to be located in the state of MN
  • Act as the liaison between the provider, client and members
  • Handling high level escalations
  • Be able to manage workload automatously and meet goals and deadlines


Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work related experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience in healthcare, sales or dental related industry
  • Ability to prospect new and existing provider leads 
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook, and Word 
  • Strong written and oral communication and ability to interact with Sr. Leadership
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20-50% of the time within territory aligned
  • Must live within a commutable distance of this specific career opportunity  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medicaid experience
  • Experience within healthcare negotiating contracts and / or provider relations
  • MS PowerPoint 
  • Sales / Call environment 
  • Exceptional sales presentation skills in a high-pressure environment
  • Dental industry knowledge
  • Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator/Dental Office Manager 
  • Knowledge of PPO and Medicare/Medicaid
  • Salesforce experience
  • Knowledge of claims processing systems and guidelines
  • Issue resolution and problem solving skills
