Provider BPO/ITO Solution Architect - Telecommute

The Provider BPO / ITO Solution Sales Architect will:

  • Work with Optum Client Executives to lead BPO / ITO deals and design IT and business process solutions consisting of ITO and BPO core administrative outsourcing services
  • Work with Optum subject matter experts in developing ITO/BPO solutions, financial models, and written/oral responses for client opportunities with high visibility with Optum executives, the client's C-level executives, and potential 3rd party vendors
  • Lead pre-sales support/managing the outsourcing opportunities
  • Lead the deal solution team (ITO/BPO and finance) in a due diligence current IT and business process assessment as required for ITO/BPO outsourcing opportunities and develop the solution thru a multi-phased approach which could include Walk-in-take-over (WITO), Transition, Transformation and Steady State
  • Manage the deal solution team, ensuring solution scope and compliance, drives the solution staffing and delivery/implementation approach, and drives the solution estimates generated by each team involved in developing the solution
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to understand current state and future requirements to design comprehensive solutions to client needs across technical architecture approach, functional business requirements, and services to design, implement and run operations

Duties/Areas of Accountability:

  • Build and manage deal solution teams including Optum subject matter experts, technical architects, business process architects, proposal managers, finance, and solution leads to develop and ensure proposed ITO/BPO solution meets or exceeds client requirements and are cost competitive to the marketplace
  • Client relationship building and solution presentation through the multi-phases of the sales cycle
  • Manage client expectations in solution development, focus on outcomes and service levels
  • Participate in contract negotiations and maintain contract schedules
  • Develop the staffing approach including a global sourcing strategy, delivery model to mitigate risk and drive quality
  • Manage the solution estimates including program management, new development efforts, enhancements, and ongoing operations
  • Engage with 3rd party hardware, software and services vendors
  • Collaborate with Optum subject matter experts and industry research and advisory firms to understand industry direction, competitive landscape, business trends, and emerging solutions
  • Coordinate the solution, opportunity roadmap, value proposition, win plan, pricing, and executive deal reviews throughout the pursuit timeline

Job Components:

  • 50 - 75% travel requirement. Occasional travel to client sites and to office locations for on-site solution development

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working with healthcare providers.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience working with IT and Business Process Outsourcing (ITO/BPO) functions leveraging a global sourcing model in either as consulting, account management, implementation or similar Client interacting role
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of providers and their business operations
  • Client-facing solution, healthcare delivery experience, and expertise
  • Ability to develop financial management models
  • Strategic vision to clearly understand and identify new opportunities to expand on existing relationships
  • Advanced communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with clients on all aspects of their Optum relationship
  • Experience in solutioning and managing complex programs that expand over multiple years management, program management, project scope definition, risk identification/mitigation, delivery methodologies, global resource allocation, facilitation, estimating techniques and other project management areas
  • Leadership and assertiveness: Guide, direct, and influence teams, drive risk/issue resolution, critical path management and appropriate escalations; understands the overall solution of the program and business impacts to initiatives
