Position Summary

Fulfill the function of purchasing and receiving all materials needed for food production at Market District R&D kitchen. This person is responsible for making sure all materials are on hand for production every day as well as maintaining accurate costs for all materials for proper budgeting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize order guides to match production levels to insure proper amounts of product are on hand and we use the buying power of the kitchen and Giant eagle to best of our abilities to get the best price possible
  • Receive end product as it is received into the kitchen. This included adjusting prices in our ERP system as they arrive, properly labeling raw product with receiving tags to insure correct allergen and lot code tracking labeling
  • Source new ingredients for new dishes to make sure we stay on schedule for launch of new dishes
  • Create NIFs for new finished goods that include the transfer price of the item as well as the retail price that the item will be sold for
  • Organize raw product storage insuring FIFO is being followed.
  • Weekly inventory of all raw products. This insures we are not over ordering, using all product beofre expiration and maintain accurate food costs.

Education and Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required

  • 3 to 5 years

Experience Desired

  • Experience purchasing for food manufacuring, catering or large restaurant operations.
