Being a Quality Management Specialist at Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) has its advantages.
As a QM Specialist at DCBHC you will actively participate in quality management functions to ensure quality of services that are accountable and follows regulatory, industry and Devereux standards. In addition to being a key treatment team member, this position allows you to have direct influence on our business success and in fulfillment of our Mission.
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) – the only free standing children’s psychiatric hospital in Chester County, Pa. is a Joint Commission accredited psychiatric inpatient hospital, located in Malvern, PA providing services to children and adolescents, ages five to 18, and their families, in acute mental health crisis.
Our treatment team, which may include psychiatrists, clinical case managers, nurses, teachers, licensed psychologists and clinical social workers, along with the family and child, work together to create a safety, stabilization and treatment plan that focuses on a successful discharge of the child back to his or her community, or lesser level of care. The majority of children stay at DCBHC between three days and 21 days.
We are seeking a Full Time Quality Management Specialist who will work closely with inpatient administration to ensure quality of care and outcome measures. Under the direction of the Director of Quality Management, the Quality Management Specialist will serve as an integral part of the acute inpatient team performing a number of related duties to include:
Active participation in the QA/QI and risk management programs; Assess and track incidents for major, trackable and reportable risk events, and conduct internal investigations when indicated.
Data Management: Track various data points, evaluate for trends, and review results with hospital leadership for planning and improvement processes.
Participate in documentation and treatment record reviews and ensure timely compliance with external reportable and deliverable items; responsible for conducting all aspects of assigned Tracer Activities and management of the complaint and grievance process.
Assist with all regulatory functions including but not limited to licensing, accreditation, external site visits, and child protective services.
Assist with the development and monitoring of corrective action plans
Providing consultation services to administrators and department heads when indicated

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required, Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum of 2 years clinical and/or operational experience working in behavioral health required; quality improvement experience in behavioral or related health care preferred. Demonstrated skills with collecting & analyzing data for program and system quality improvement needed. Experience with Joint Commission Behavioral Health Standards and Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (OMHSAS) highly desirable. High proficiency with verbal and written communication and strong computer skills across a variety of Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point).
