Position Summary

Organizes, controls and maintains effective backroom/receiving area operations to minimize costs, enforce security procedures, perform vendor audits, promote a safe environment and provide superior service to all internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide products and services that meet the requirements of internal and external customers at all times and abide by the Company's Statement of Values.
  • Receive and process all DSD vendor products according to company policies; perform vendor audits.
  • Maintain a safe/secure environment in the receiving area by adhering to the company's prescribed safety methods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and clutter free backroom/receiving area of operation; perform shrink/supply audits in backroom.
  • Ensure that DSD vendors are delivering product to the receiving area during the established delivery times and schedules and that the number of vendors in the backroom at one time doesn't exceed proper levels.
  • Ensure that respective departments are notified of perishable deliveries in a timely fashion in order to ensure maintenance of cold chain.
  • Conduct vendor spot checks on all items received through DSD process to ensure product is in code, all authorized product varieties are represented and quantity is sufficient for sales between deliveries.
  • Maintain a vendor product return area that is organized by commodity so vendors can easily identify product to be returned.
  • Ensure that established return procedures are followed; vendor returns are picked up regularly (with every vendor visit) and documented on the proper forms.
  • Ensure that all third party deliveries (UPS, FedEx, etc.) are received according to the established DSD procedures.
  • Complete and maintain proper signature logs for DSD vendors/deliveries.
  • Follow established procedures with regards to unauthorized or damaged product from DSD vendors.
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting for any and all pricing discrepancies and vendor compliance violations with occur with DSD vendors or products.
  • Manage immediate area outside of receiving room to ensure that there are no obstructions to the receiving of deliveries in an efficient time and manner.
  • Maintain necessary equipment for receiving purposes (power jacks,DEX,DSD system) perform regular checks and maintenance and promptly report any problems for correction/repairs.

Education and Training Required

  • No High School diploma required

Experience Required

  • 0 to 6 months

Experience Desired

  • Making bales by operating paper and plastic baler

Age Requirement

  • At least 18 years of age
