Position Summary

The Technical Recruiter's responsibilities include sourcing, screening and providing a shortlist of qualified candidates for various technical roles. You will also network online and offline with potential candidates to promote our employer brand, reduce our time-to-hire and ensure we attract the best professionals. Solid networking skills, customer service skills, creative problem solving skills are a must in this role. This position will report directly to the Talent Acquisition team and have a dotted line to the IT/eCommerce business leaders. Ultimately, you will build a strong tech talent pipeline for current and future roles and help hire and retain skilled Team Members for our IT and eCommerce positions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as an employment brand ambassador and helps to drive IT and eCommerce candidate interest in career opportunities. Demonstrate the ability to sell Giant Eagle's Team Member Value Proposition by understanding and utilizing candidates' varied interests to tailor marketing messages to be as compelling and persuasive as possible.
  • Produce a pipeline of qualified IT and eCommerce candidates and build a robust network of community partnerships for the purpose of lead generation. Play an active role in coordinating, participating and networking at tech conferences, workshops, events, etc while also scheduling members of the IT and eCommerce teams to get involved and participate, as they see fit.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with hiring managers in IT and eCommerce by taking time to clearly understand the business need(s) and to define the profile of the right candidate. Partner with IT/eCommerce hiring managers to interview and make final selection(s). Serve as a business partner to IT/eCommerce hiring managers by coaching them on best practices in recruiting, interviewing, selection, and extending offers. Communicate regularly with IT/eCommerce hiring managers regarding the status of open positions. Aid in the forecasting of department goals and hiring needs to help shape and mold future state of the business
  • Gain a strong understanding and has their 'finger on the pulse' of the IT/eCommerce tech landscape in terms of understanding industry trends as they relate to hiring practices, compensation, benefits, perks, work environment that are attractive to technical talent. Has intel of competitor practices that affords us the ability to stay on trend and continue to remain relevant as we recruit tech talent.
  • Use proactive sourcing techniques including but not limited to: identifying and connecting with passive talent through targeted direct calls, canvassing efforts, networking and building partnerships with schools, communities, and diverse organizations/associations, conducting presentations and speaking engagements, utilizing complex internet searches and social recruiting methods, mining internal Applicant Tracking System, attending external job fairs, arranging and leading hiring events
  • Act as the liasion with the Recruitment Marketing team for marketing requests and to ensure marketing efforts are being allotted strategically.
  • Meet diverse slate goals for open positions by employing various diversity recruiting tactics.
  • Help aid in the coaching and mentoring of peers. Assist with deploying and tracking the return on investment of sourcing initiatives/strategies aimed at generating quality candidates while always maintaining an emphasis on creating a diverse pool of talent. Regularly communicates this information to designated Talent Acquisition Manager.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and fluidity in regularly changing work based on business needs. This includes full-cycle recruiting for a variety of IT and eCommerce positions, openings, acquisition work, or projects while working as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be self motivated: Organizs time and schedule to ensure all weekly, quarterly and annual goals are met.

Education and Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional training

Experience Required

  • 3 to 5 years
  • Experience recruiting for technical roles in eCommerce organizations including front end and back-end web development, mobile development, cloud deployments, micro-services and API developers
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies like C#/.net, Azure Cloud and Xamarin

Experience Desired

  • Previous experience in recruiting IT and eCommerce professionals
