The Clinical Program Nurse for Policy and Procedures (P&P) supports the development and maintenance of clinical policies, procedures and standing delegation orders. This position is responsible for researching regulatory standards, clinical standards and statutory requirements to support the creation and maintenance of Clinic Operations P&P. Additionally, this position will collaborate with key clinic operations stakeholders to educate others regarding regulatory or clinical guidelines. The Clinical Program Nurse for Policy and Procedures works in a less structured, self-directed environment providing clinical guidance and serving as a resource for others.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research related to development of clinical policies, procedures and standing delegation orders. Develop or update policies, procedures and standing delegation orders in collaboration with clinical and administrative subject matter experts
  • Maintain knowledge of quality of care standards and state and federal regulatory standards including, but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMMS and state Boards of Nursing and Medical Boards
  • Maintain the central P&P library
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as scheduled to maintain collaborative relationships and open communication
  • Conduct clinical assessments and clinical audits
  • Perform all duties for internal and external customers in a timely and responsible manner representing the company in a professional manner
  • Consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Utilize effective conflict resolution, negotiating, collaboration and interpersonal skills to resolve issues and increase customer satisfaction
  • Participate in the development of appropriate quality improvement processes, establishing and monitoring indicators
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
This is an office based position near Network BLVD, 78249 / Da Zavala and IH-10E
Local and Non-Local travel is required as determined by the business

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree in Nursing with four or more years’ experience
  • Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice in the applicable state
  • Diverse clinical experience with four or more years’ experience in a clinical or administrative setting
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and the ability to master other departmental specific programs/applications
  • Must be able to prioritize, plan and handle multiple tasks and demands simultaneously
  • Translate concepts into practice
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Coach and provide feedback, able to guide others
  • Act as a resource for others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in policy and procedure development
  • Experience in quality improvement
  • Work with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Independent problem identification/resolution and decision making skills

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
