A Registered Professional Nurse responsible for delivery of patient (direct and indirect) through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and guides patient teaching, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Assures history and physical assessment with regard to past hospitalization, medical problems and medication in all age population is performed by a professional nurse at the time of the pre-admission visit.
Identifies and interprets assessment data (including signs and symptoms, diagnostic data) that indicate risk situations.
Makes recommendations for pre & post-operative nursing care, based on identified health care needs and specific age population.
Arranges follow-up care with other agencies/facilities as needed.
Demonstrates ability to effectively teach patient pre & post-operative instructions specific to type of surgery and age.
Demonstrates ability to perform accurate physical assessment and communicate significant abnormal findings to attending physician and other appropriate members of health care team.
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
Current competency demonstrated in physical assessment.
Licensed and currently registered as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Healthcare Provider CPR required.
