Release Train Engineer - Omni Channel Solutions

Our Contact Center Services team is transforming our contact center infrastructure through a multi-year program entitled Omni. The Omni program provides a platform level technical refresh for the delivery of inbound customer calls to ~75,000 agents globally. It will also refresh and deliver new customer channel interactions through outbound, chat, email, click-to-call, and other contact types. This is a newly created, highly visible role performing a critical function by leading multiple Scrum teams and driving complicated migration work across all impacted teams within the Omni program.

 

 

 

As a Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will lead Agile Release Trains (ART) to success while navigating the complexity of delivering software consistently in the Omni Channel environment. The RTE resolves and escalates impediments, manages risk, assures value delivery, and drives program level continuous improvement. They play a critical link between multiple Scrum teams by facilitating communications, opening the flow of information, and sharing important progress updates to ensure all teams involved in the ART are focused on successful delivery. The RTE is accountable for the overall coordination, execution and delivery of value through the program while ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments and goals.

 

 

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

 

 

 

  • Managing, tracking and reporting on the progress for Agile Release Trains

  • Executive communication for Release Train status

  • Facilitating the coordinated preparation of release planning for the release train

  • Managing changes to the quarterly plan and the impacts of those changes

  • Backlog management as well as ALM tool data integrity for accurate reporting (including the collection of metrics and KPIs)

  • Coordinating major feature releases and ongoing delivery of value to customers where multiple teams, release trains and/or solution groups are involved

  • Resolving/reporting issues and managing dependencies and risks across the ART and between ARTs

  • Driving continuous improvement through the facilitation of retrospectives

  • Actively participating in the RTE Community of Practice to help the organization maintain alignment, learn new techniques and improve technical and quality practices

 


 

 

 

Required Experiences:  

 

 

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Track record of success managing multiple, complex work streams in parallel

  • Financial reporting and forecasting experiences with budgets of $1M +

  • Presence and diplomacy

  • Well-honed communication skills that are tailored to audiences appropriately

  • Demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills

  • Experience preparing reports/presentations and delivering them to executive level stakeholders

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and remove roadblocks
