Safety & Security Manager

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Manage the daily activities of the G4S security force
  • Act as the client's security manager with the responsibilities for management of the Safety and Security Training Programs for the Harrisburg, PA facility
  • Audit accident, loss and theft reports, analyze trends, conduct investigations, identify preventive measures, and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure that the facility meets all federal, state and local safety regulations; ensure that the client's safety and security policies and procedures are followed
  • Act as the client's security manager serving as the liaison with local police, fire, and other Government agencies as required to ensure they are familiar with the facility in the event of an emergency and must render assistance
  • Act as the primary client security manager that meets with the Health & Safety Committee which is comprised of associates from each department that meets monthly to discuss safety issues
  • Responsible for all aspects of the workers' compensation program; communicate with carrier, clinic and worker to facilitate care and treatment
  • Implement emergency action plans and schedule emergency evacuation drills
  • Administer all aspects of drug/alcohol testing program
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of warehouse operations and the procedures for receiving, stocking, inventory control, order picking, and shipping. Interface with the appropriate department managers to monitor associate compliance with client's operational policies and procedures

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Safety Management or related field

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of security or law enforcement experience
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of security supervisory or management experience
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of work experience related to safety and/or emergency response

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or foreign citizen legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations and common terminology
  • Must have knowledge of the operation of basic physical security systems, such as CCTV, video, alarm systems, access control, and fire life safety
  • Must be able to interface with people at all levels with the client
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment: Office; minimal to no work in extreme temperatures is expected
