PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Security Analyst role is part of the Information Security team, and will support security operations and investigations. Candidates will be responsible for identifying and documenting potential risks, coordinating and tracking remediation activities with the system and/or business owners, and supporting various security technologies
(Top 5 should cover 80% of the important job functions)
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments of the compute environment
- Coordinate remediation activities with system and/or business owners and track associated activities to closure
- Participate in the identification, containment, and remediation of security incidents
- Support various security technologies, including IPS, EDR, and SIEM solutions.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Required Minimum -- 5+ years information technology experience with at least 3 year in an information security role
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:
Strong knowledge of network security zones, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and host technologies (linux/windows). Experience with security assessment tools (NMAP, Nessus, Metasploit). Strong Problem Solving/Decision Making skills, Organizing and Planning, Customer Orientation, Computer Skills, Learning Agility, Oral Communication, Written Communication, Results Orientation, Team Player.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES:
Security Certifications such SANs SEC401 or high preferred.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
Review technologies, solutions, and vendors. Offer input and feedback to senior members around solution and vendor decisions.
