Senior Business Analyst – US Telecommute

The Senior Business Analyst will serve as an expert resource within the Clinical Practice Performance Analytics team. This individual will develop and document business requirements related to affordability, quality measurement, provider profiling and other population health management topics.  This position will be part of a team that supports the Community and State Health Home business, market teams, and business partners in the full range of clinical practice performance and affordability reporting.
 
The Senior Business Analyst will assist in gap analysis to interpret the difference between current and future state elements and processes surrounding health homes data management and integrity. The individual should understand the limitations of claims data with regard to analytics and be able to critically evaluate the incremental benefit of new data sources.
 
This role will provide recommendations and drive implementation of the future state of health homes data management, reporting, data platforms, and related process components.  The Senior Business Analyst will support both short and long term business objectives by developing business requirements with necessary SQL code and/or data visualizations to support market reporting needs.  Additionally, this position will conduct and/or coordinate gap and root cause analysis to put in place actions and mitigations to improve end-to-end health homes data integrity and reporting.  Join us! Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage large scale data sets that directly support health homes affordability, quality measures, and provider reporting
  • Enter data in specified formats based on software specifications and update information in software tools
  • Define the approach and collaborate with technical and business/market stakeholders to define and gather business, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Validate requirements with stakeholders and project teams, providing suggestions and recommendations as appropriate
  • Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data pertaining to health homes performance metrics which are sourced from various enterprise systems
  • Conduct gap analysis between current and future state and assist in the build and operationalization of future processes pertaining to health homes analytic strategy
  • Analyze data and trends, perform root cause analysis to determine and establish best practices and areas of improvement related to health homes rostering, enrollment, reporting, and systems utilized for care coordination
  • Develop and document end-to-end health homes reporting and business process flows, data flows, system impacts, and procedural task and procedural change issues
  • Identify and/or establish appropriate testing metrics/targets to validate that business requirements are being met (i.e., performance metrics, process deliverables, traceability, business value)
  • Conduct and/or support testing activities (i.e., production, regression and user acceptance testing, production validation)
  • Plan/execute user testing scenarios/scripts and prepare test data
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure proper implementation and adoption of the solution (i.e., post-deployment support, definition/monitoring of control plans)
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience using SQL to write queries for ad-hoc analyses, data quality, and data profiling to gain a detailed understanding of the data
  • 4+ years working within large, complex, matrix organization, preferably with IT experience or experience with healthcare data, analytics, reporting, systems
  • 2+ years of experience working in managed care organization (PPO, HMO, etc.) or healthcare technology organization in a business analyst role
  • Advanced or Expert level of proficiency with Access, Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Understanding of healthcare claim processing, coding, enrollment processing, electronic (EDI) transactions, and data analytics
Preferred Qualifications:
  • HEDIS/Stars analytical experience
  • Experience in software implementation setting
  • 2+ years of experience designing reports utilizing Crystal Reports, Cognos, and/or similar reporting tools
  • 1+ years of experience working with Tableau reports
  • Clinical experience in a managed care organization or working in a hospital setting
  • Experience working with PCMHs or ACOs
  • Experience developing project plans, timelines, milestones, IRAADs, using the appropriate MS Project tools
  • Experience conducting JAD sessions to obtain business requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare systems, operations, regulatory mandates, and industry standards
  • Experience in analysis/engineering or project management, including workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation of business process (including experience writing requirements)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analysis, including trends and opportunities, to clients and business leadership both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively interact, collaborate with, and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment
