Senior Clerk - Schaumburg, IL

Our claims operations are the focal point of handling information about services patients receive and the way those services get paid. It's complex, detailed work. The Senior Clerk role handles information about patient services and how those services are paid. You will be required to use basic math in many of your daily activities.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Revenue cycle management support
  • Plan, prioritize, organize and complete work to meet established production goals or quotas in a fast pace and ever changing environment
  • Establish professional working relationships to ensure operational efficiency
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively identifies solutions
  • Analyze and identify trends and provide reporting as necessary
  • Administrative tasks including but not limited to:
    • Processing manual lab bills, insurance billing claims
    • Preparing documents requiring scanning images, logging documents, and prepare documents to submit with billing
    • Reviewing and sorting physical mail
  • Serve as the business service liaison for supply ordering and management

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED or higher
  • 6+ months of healthcare billing experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to sort, sum, insert bar graphs and formulas
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word with the ability to create documents and complete mail merging
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook with the ability to manage email, calendar, and task lists
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8 - hour shift between the business hours of 6:30am and 5:00pm
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or higher
  • Previous experience working in a client facing role and / or working onsite at a client site
  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative or clerical role
  • Healthcare experience with a focus on administrative tasks
  • Customer service experience
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, both independently and in a group setting
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be well organized and able to multi - task
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse
  • Speaking and listening while using a headset.
  • Business office environment with moderate noise level due to representatives talking, using computers, printing and other floor activity
