As part of one the largest health plans in the United States, UnitedHealthcare provides a professional culture where you're empowered and encouraged to utilize your oncology pharmacy expertise to develop programs to impact the Triple Aim.  Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)   In this position as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist you will lead the development and implementation of oncology clinical pathways designed to manage the quality and cost efficiency of oncology medications covered under both medical and pharmacy benefits for UnitedHealthcare plans.  Integral part of the teams developing strategies and managing oncology medications, including analyzing current programs to improve outcomes and appropriate utilization of therapies to mitigate trend and improve quality of care.   If you are located in Eden Prairie, MN, Pittsburg, PA or St. Louis, MO, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.   Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Evaluate clinical evidence, guidelines, utilization and financial information necessary to develop oncology clinical pathways for treating various cancers
  • Develop, implement, update and maintain oncology clinical pathways and present to enterprise-wide committees
  • Develop tools and materials to educate providers, clients/consultants, members and internal staff on the clinical pathways program
  • Evaluate clinical evidence, guidelines, utilization and financial information necessary to develop oncology clinical pathways for treating various cancers
  • Develop, implement, update and maintain oncology clinical pathways and present to enterprise-wide committees
  • Develop tools and materials to educate providers, clients/consultants, members and internal staff on the clinical pathways program

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Must hold at least one valid pharmacist license without restrictions
  • Must maintain a valid pharmacist license
  • At least 2 years’ experience in oncology patient care or working directly or indirectly with oncology clinicians or practices
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist or equivalent expertise
  • Strong clinical and analytic background
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Prior experience with oncology clinical pathways, health outcomes research, or pharmacy management a plus
