Positions in this function are accountable for a broad range of reporting, analytics and data solutions.  This position offers the opportunity to join an emerging department that is working to dramatically improve the healthcare experience. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and analyze claims and cost trends to identify management opportunities and measure the impact of strategy implementation
  • Lead discovery processes with analytics partners with UHC to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in tracking, trending and reporting on metrics
  • Create and provide sound statistical analyses and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions
  • Collaborates with the data steward to gather information to be used for analytics to ensure the data meets the qualification and assurance requirements of the analyses
  • Communicate analytics results through data visualization tools

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL
  • 2+ years of experience validating data and interpreting results of analysis
  • 2+ years of experience identifying variances/trends/root cause and providing solutions
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare industry
  • 3+ years of experience of hands-on visualization and strong analytic programming skills using Tableau, SSRS, Looker, D3.js or like
  • 5+ years of experience manipulating large datasets and using databases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent language and communication skills 
  • Ability to converse and establish rapport at all levels; a strong team player; can conduct customer workshops with business and IT stakeholders to validate requirements 
  • Ability to assertively research the data landscape with minimal direction; a self-starter with great problem solving and situational analysis skills
  • Understanding of how to read data architecture and data model diagrams, and to have passion about data
  • Outstanding presentation skills, strong storyboarding and Power point skills
  • Realistic with timelines and not afraid to ask for help
  • Eager to try new things and divert from the plan when it makes sense
  • Flexible and nimble
