The Senior Image Retouching Specialist will be guiding, coaching and coordinating junior and off-shore retouchers and processes, managing production and processes as well as performing their own share of retouching work.


This position will train and mentor in-house creative teams and off-shore teams in department workflow and retouching techniques. This will include creating and maintaining training materials, coaching junior and off-shore retouchers, review all work to check quality and hold team accountable for quality standards, monitor daily priorities, answer day-to-day team questions, work with both US and off-shore coordinators to adjust priorities and workloads when needed, logging status daily.


A Senior Image Specialist will need to manage and streamline processes for local and remote teams including creating scripts, and automating as many tasks as possible. This position will work with internal business partners to proof and edit images to brand standards, as well as working with our inhouse photographer to improve workflow and increase image quality and consistency.


Retouching duties include retouching, recoloring and editing of product and model images for CMYK and web, as well as video files. Includes color correction to match product samples, compositing, masking, sharpening, resizing, clipping paths, drop shadows and creating reflections as well as mapping print images with Ned Graphics 3D rendering software. The position requires the ability to understand our specific brand aesthetic goals and must be able to elevate any selected original image to meet or exceed our standards.


Additionally, this position should continually monitor and research industry best practices and technologies to produce incredibly beautiful and color accurate images as efficiently as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Retouching, recoloring, editing images and video. Creating mapped prints. Composite studio imagery into lifestyle photos. Create color swatches.
  • QA and proof their own as well as the team work.
  • Coordinators with Senior Designers, Art Directors and Production Artists to manage workload to meet strict deadlines daily. Communicate and liaison with outside customer's like merchants and marketing teams as needed.
  • Continually evaluate industry best practices and technologies and standards to produce incredibly beautiful and color accurate images and efficiently as possible.
Required Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Mac OS.
  • Ecommerce experience
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software particularly Photoshop, Camera Raw and Bridge.
  • Prior experience in photo retouching including color correction, compositing, masking, resizing, optimization, file output and management.
  • Open and receptive to learning and critiquing.
  • Experience with digital post-production for print.
  • Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail in a fast pace and demanding environment.
  • Experience training and supervising.
  • Advance color management and color matching techniques.
  • Extremely detail oriented with project management skills.
  • Project or team supervision, task management or project planning.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (ie: starting at 6/7am in order to overlap with offshore talent) a plus!
