Senior Licensed Behavioral Health Care Advocate - After Hours - Telecommute

This is the place to do your life's best work.(sm)   The schedule for this role would be:   Sat through Wed, 8 hour shifts. Saturday and Sunday – start time 3pm CST Tuesday – 2pm CST start time Monday/Wednesday – start at 4pm CST Days off – Thursday and Friday   You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.   Primary Responsibilities:

  • Individual contributor (no direct reports) subject matter expert - reports directly to Manager/ Senior Manager
  • Oversee the daily assignment of cases and provide direct case coverage as needed
  • Review daily staffing schedule to ensure staffing levels meet established standards
  • Coordinate scheduling to assure coverage of the team at all times
  • Serve as a resource for staff on routine questions and procedures
  • Assign mentors to new staff, and work with Staff Development Coordinator to coordinate orientation and training activities
  • Provide team and account specific training to new hires and on-going training to team as needed  
  • Perform quality audits and partner with manager to review key metrics with team.
  • Assist manager with clinical chart audits as needed
  • Provide feedback regarding individual and team performance to management for use in clinical supervision and Performance Reviews
  • Assist with special projects, committee work, team specific activities and other duties as assigned
  • Provide coverage when manager is in meetings or out of the office
  • Develop supervisory skills through on-the-job training and supervisor feedback, ULearn courses.
  • Build team cohesion
  • Collaborate with other Senior Care Advocates to manage resources and ensure cross-functional process adherence
  • Assist in resolution of escalated member and facility issues
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be an independently licensed Masters-level mental health professional, licensed Ph.D. or registered psychiatric nurse
  • Must have a current, independent, unrestricted license
  • 3+ years post-licensure experience
  • 3+ years direct clinical experience with acute and community based psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment in various settings
  • 3+ years in a Care Advocate role or equivalent managed care experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn and navigate multiple proprietary software applications; typing proficiency required
  • Must have designated, distraction-free area in home for workspace
  • Must have access to high speed internet (DSL/Cable)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Managed care or utilization review experience desirable
  • Demonstrated familiarity and experience with the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual and best practice standards for treatment
  • Familiarity with recovery and resiliency model is preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Ability to maintain comprehensive electronic records
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills; ability to negotiate and make quick, effective and efficient decisions to resolve cases and issues
  • Clinical expertise in directing/ managing difficult callers through intervention skills while maintaining business appropriate integrity
  • Ability to effectively adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong work ethic
  • Demonstrates mastery of OHBS policies and procedures
  • Consistently meets or exceeds metrics, deadlines, completes projects, and manages multiple tasks
  • Able to offer feedback and positively resolve conflict
  • Ability to internalize and apply feedback from manager/supervisor to improve performance and minimize errors
  • Ability to multitask between different systems and case
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
