Senior Media Director - Multiple Locations

The Senior Media Director is responsible for building an enterprise media management capability for a Fortune 5 enterprise. The individual will develop a media playbook to drive consistent best-in-class approaches to media planning, execution, and measurement. The ideal candidate will also have experience leading the evaluation of in-house media talent and capabilities. They will establish an enterprise learning agenda and lead the implementation of a multi-year media management roadmap. This leadership role is a strategic partner with various business units and brand teams with shared accountability for their success through strategic media planning and implementation of best practices.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Steer the development and execution of an enterprise media management roadmap to deepen capabilities in strategic media planning, improve media measurement and analysis strength, enhance ability to quickly staff and capitalize on opportunities, improve processes & procedures, and to attract, retain and manage media talent 
  • Lead and direct cross-functional relationships in the development, implementation and ongoing optimization of cross-channel media plans that support an array of business unit and brand needs, both B2B and B2C
  • Develop, translate and execute strategies or functional / operational objectives for multiple business segments and brand teams
  • Evaluate 3rd party ad tech relationships / contracts, negotiate directly where necessary, and establish standards for ad verification, view-ability, brand safety and programmatic media
  • Drive a strong, collaborative culture between agencies and internal clients
  • Manage the overall enterprise day-to-day relationships with media agency partners
  • Mentor and guide business partners to deliver exemplary planning and delivery of media activities
  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the media performance and results through multiple layers of management and senior level
  • Influence and/or direct others to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems that affect major functions or disciplines


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of cross-channel marketing experience, ideally combining agency and/or client-side
  •  5+ years of cross-channel marketing experience focused in both digital and offline media management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent understanding of the media business and it’s day-to-day operations
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Familiarity with Advertising Technology landscape, having participated in processes to select enterprise Ad Tech solutions
  • Experience developing strategies to protect brand safety, minimize ad fraud and ensure view-ability of digital media
  • Capable of serving as a United Health Group ambassador, demonstrating grace in challenging internal / external scenarios and able to promote and build affinity for the enterprise externally
  • Direct response media experience with at least 2+ years with Direct Response Television
  • Both agency-side and client experience leading the evaluation, and where it made sense, the implementation of in-house media capabilities
