You can visit our website at Title Senior Network Engineer Position Posting Location Buffalo Status Full Time Regular Hours 08:00-05:00 Job Description The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for identifying explicit and implicit customer needs and for ascertaining the HealthNow infrastructure solution that best meets these needs; additional responsibilities include performing evaluations of network and telephone technology standards, tools, products, and solutions and working closely with business and technology stakeholders to make rational design decisions in light of known dependencies and tradeoffs. Primary Responsibility Works with clients to solidify technical and infrastructure requirements, track milestones related to technical voice or network infrastructure and manage issues and risks. Works with all of IT to coordinate voice or network infrastructure deliverables on premise or Cloud. Including all aspects of the infrastructure design, selection of component pieces for appropriate technology solutions, assessment of risk and cost-effectiveness of different solutions, etc. Involvement covers all stages of project life-cycle, from requirements capture through design, implementation and support. Partners with the support team to identify, prioritize, and resolve critical network related issues that impact business operations. Communicates solutions to voice or network related issues and preferred emerging technologies that can be used to improve the overall health of the company network. Creates and enforces architectural standards that enable products to interoperate for the organizations voice network, WAN/LAN network, firewalls and load balancers. Creates and manages technology strategy and roadmap to influence IT decision making. Assures and audits that architecture principles and standards are applied. Defines and implements enterprise level Network infrastructure technical standards, guidelines, metrics, architectures and processes to the solutions development, engineering and operations teams to standardize the solutions, improve the speed and cost of engineering and operations, and ensure alignment with the Cloud Strategy. Manages basic and expedited support to resolve all networking related issues. Troubleshoots and resolves all expedited issues impacting the customers’ challenges and needs. Proactively communicates the status, plan of action(s), and resolution(s) of issues. Identifies opportunities and recommends solutions for improving the overall network health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge and Skills Experience with voice network infrastructure design and cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, virtualization, IP networking, disaster recovery with a cloud provider ex, Microsoft Azure or, Amazon AWS. Experience working with IVR scripting, configuration and troubleshooting. Experience deploying system in multiple locations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience in multi-platform infrastructure distributed environments. Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to meet complex business needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow a project plan and meet project deliverables. Ability to work individually or in a team environment. Works with technical teams to ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements. Monitors and reports the performance of telephone system components against KPIs and takes preemptive measures to minimize interruptions. Manages complex and expedited support to resolve all voice networking related issues.
Experience In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, may have a combination of education, training and experience in order to perform the responsibilities. Requires minimum of eight (8) years of related experience including at least three years (3) years in a lead role.
