Senior Payroll Specialist

Overview

This position is responsible for performing daily payroll operations, including processing payroll, auditing for accuracy and completing the company’s W-2 process at the end of the year. This position also is responsible for training payroll specialists and providing oversight of payroll and auditing functions.

Responsibilities

 Trains payroll specialists
 Oversight of payrolls ran by payroll specialists
 Manages projects to improve payroll functions, including auditing
 Performs daily payroll department operations
 Manages workflow to ensure that all assigned payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
 Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validates confirmed reports
 Understands proper taxation of employer paid benefits and ensures correctness
 Processes garnishments and other required deductions
 Processes accurate and timely year end reporting, including W-2 creation
 Develops ad hoc reporting when necessary
 Researches and resolves payroll issues
 Working with accounting on accruals and payroll feeds
 Loads import files and validate completeness

Qualifications

 Three to five years’ experience (supervisory or auditing role preferred)
 Strong attention to detail and time commitments
 Must have large payroll platform system experience, preferably ADP along with W-2 filing
 Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
 Experience in high volume processing and multi-location, multi state payroll
