Senior Project Manager - Eden Prairie, MN or Telecommute

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas.  They will provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)

  • Collect, analyze and maintain financial forecast information (e.g., labor, hardware, software), using input from applicable sources (e.g., resource managers, project managers, application planners, system architects)

  • Develop/contribute to project budgets and forecasts, obtaining approvals from applicable stakeholders (e.g., cost/benefit analysis, capital planning, staffing impact analysis/assessment)

  • Establish/apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with input from applicable stakeholders (e.g., key performance indicators, scope definition)

  • Develop, document and implement project communication plans

  • Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others, acts as a resource for others with less experience

  • Facilitate presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results

  • May manage vendor and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations

  • Analyzing, investigating and providing explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

  • Prepare for self-directed and not prescribed work. They will oversee complex issues and serves as a resource to others

 

 


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or applicable years’ experience 

  • 4+ Years of project management experience in a professional setting using data and information to make business decisions

  • Professional experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment

  • Technical experience with project management tools (i.e. Microsoft Office tools: MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint)

  • Experience and desire to coach and guide others

Preferred Qualification:

  • Project management certification

  • Claims or Insurance industry experience

  • Professional experience leading cross-functional teams to successfully execute business objectives

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Adaptable and able to move within a changing environment in a large complex organization managing change, innovation, ambiguity, and urgency
