Provider Data SMEs provide support and coaching to peers, ensuring high quality results. The Provider Data SME role assists frontline Provider Data staff in making informed decisions by answering their questions, resolving their issues, as well as providing on the job support. Provider Data SMEs assist Supervisors with projects, inventory queue management, team coaching, and process improvement initiatives.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Coaching for productivity and quality (utilizing the 5 - why process)
  • Inventory queue management
  • Ad hoc projects
  • Process improvements (Identify and research feasibility)
  • Identifying needed updates to documentation
  • Develop and maintain productive work relationships
  • Provide personalized and consultative education and information
  • Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Investigate non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others
  • Work exclusively within a specific knowledge area
  • Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines
  • Research, develop and present Root Cause analysis presentations to mid-level management (Supervisors / Managers)

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • 1+ years of data analysis and / or audit experience within the healthcare industry
  • 1+ years of experience in managing cross functional projects and making presentations
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate level proficiency in tracking, trending and reporting on metrics
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office - Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (ability to sort, filter, and create simple spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Experience in CSP Facets system
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing at least one of the following Provider or Claims databases: NDB and / or CSP Facets
  • Previous coaching / buddy experience
  • 1+ years of experience with provider data (demographic and / or contractual)
  • 1+ years of experience with quality programs and process improvement initiatives
  • 1+ years of experience with claims processing systems such as COSMOS, UNET, and / or CSP
  • 6+ months of experience with workforce effectiveness practices
  • Experience writing policies and procedures
  • Experience in Provider Data Operations workflow tools (PhyCon, Navigator, etc.)
