Senior Systems Administrator

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for complex support of the company's information technology, applications and servers, which includes analysis, installation, testing, maintenance, operations, planning, response to service outages, and other problems. This position ensures the integration of various elements of technology so that they function effectively for end users. The Senior Systems Administrator work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.


The Senior Systems Administrator maintains and monitors software and servers ensuring proper administration of software licensing and updates. The position may configure, maintain, and monitor security access control systems. The position may work with the disaster recovery function in planning and coordinating business continuity efforts, including backup and restoration of data and ensuring high systems availability. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

  • Achieving business goals by designing, building, and maintaining high caliber solutions using modern technology that meet current and future needs
  • Creating next generation web applications that focus on scalability, resiliency, speed to market, and performance
  • Refining and/or redesigning application architecture to be more cost-effective, including the optimal selection of implementation technologies, practices, and skills for application delivery success.
  •  Keeping the digital vision for the organization updated and current, and identifying the opportunities for differentiating digital capabilities and solutions
  • Keeping the digital roadmap updated to deliver on the vision taking into account the as-is-architecture, and ensure it is communicated to business and IT stakeholders
  • Creating and maintaining application architecture deliverables and artifacts


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 7+ years design, development, and testing of software applications
  • Prior experience in a top technology company
  • Experience with:
    • Microservices architecture
    • Cloud-native applications
    • Full Stack development
    • DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Prior experience in a health care company
