Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.
Serves as senior wealth planner to the most complex, visible and top revenue generating clients defined as clients or prospects with $5MM or more in investable assets. Partners with the Wealth Planning Strategist and Regional Wealth Planning Managers to identify and participate with in-scope client activities that may lead to the sale of planning engagements. Serves as the project lead on the most complex planning engagements, including project oversight, plan preparation, review and delivery. Prepares analysis and work product on engagements generally above $10mm in net worth. Develops and delivers comprehensive, integrated and multigenerational plans. Delivers the wealth plan in partnership with the relationship manager/team. Focuses on cash flow analysis, insurance analysis, education funding analysis, executive compensation issues and stock option analysis, income tax planning, charitable planning, business succession, asset protection, and estate and wealth transfer planning. Documents, follows up on the status of, and supports the closing of opportunities identified from the wealth planning process. Provides the most advanced level of planning. Develops new clients jointly with internal partners as well as individually with external sources. Partners with relationship manager/team during the consultative process with the client and also assists with overall client discovery. Provides support as a subject matter expert for a specific specialty or type of service. Works closely with internal product teams to understand changes to WM financial services products. Acts as a wealth planning generalist and product expert, when necessary. Monitors and tracks client activities, planning fees and client revenues related to wealth planning work to ensure sales opportunities are maximized. Partners with the Sr/Wealth Planning Strategists to deliver the appropriate planning to clients. Reviews the work of Wealth Planners/Analysts. Provides ongoing training coaching and mentoring to Wealth Planners/Analysts. Reviews documents such as wills, trusts, corporate governing documents, and others. Works on research projects, presentations, writing assignments, or other projects as they arise, which support a client s plan, Regional Planning, or a specific business initiative. Adheres to all planning procedures and protocols. This position is centralized within a region supporting multiple regional hubs.
In addition to primary responsibilities as a Senior Wealth Planner (approximately 60% of the role), also provides Wealth Planning Strategist support (approximately 40% of the role) in the Greater Pennsylvania area. This involves playing a significant role in deepening and broadening relationships with existing clients, as well as developing/bringing new client relationships of generally above $10mm net worth into Wealth Management. Develops new clients and drives fee based engagements jointly with internal partners as well as individually with external sources. This requires travel and office visits for approximately two days per week and flexible availability for meeting attendance with limited notice.Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: tax planning, financial planning, or wealth planning
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- A Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
- Business development experience
- Client relationship management experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- An active CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (tm) certification
- 10+ years of legal, tax or wealth planning experience with high net worth clients
- LL.M. or Masters in Taxation
