JOB SUMMARY
 
Work closely with senior, lead or principal software engineer to design, develop and maintain software components and products that support H&R Block business applications. Use tools, languages, coding standards and best practices to develop new product features and maintain year over year product functionality and enhancements. Work in Agile Scrum Methodology, Visual SourceSafe for Visual studio (VS) 2015 and Kanban. Use .NET 4.5 Framework, C#, MVC, Angular, jQuery, AJAX, REST and WCF services. Develop core Class Library for business logic. Utilize T-SQL to create Tables, Views, cursors, triggers and stored Procedures. Provide reporting using Oracle PL/SQL Developer. Perform Code review and Deployment code in DEV, QA & Prod environments. Perform production support, Bug fixes, Service tickets, Software design and Implementation. Create and execute unit tests and address defects. Work closely with the QA, UX and other related teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements and approach. Work with offshore team and external vendors.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
 
Three years of experience in: 
 

  • Design, development and testing of software applications;
  • Software development life cycle;
  • Software release and deployment;
  • C#.NET, VB.NET;
  • ASP.NET, MVC;
  • Angular JS, Node JS, Ajax, jQuery, JSON;
  • HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap;
  • WCF, REST, ADO.Net;
  • LINQ, Entity Framework, SignalR;
  • WPF, Silverlight;
  • MSSQL, Oracle;
  • Production support;
  • Requirement gathering and documenting; and
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
