You can visit our website at Title Spec Learning I Position Posting Location Buffalo Status Full Time Regular Hours As Required Job Description The Learning Specialist coordinates and facilitates virtual and instructor-led learning solutions for HealthNow NY’s operational business units including Claims, Customer Service, Billing and Enrollment and Front End. the incumbent works with business partners, recruiters, HR business partners, OD specialists, and the talent development team to implement learning solutions in support of business goals and strategy. Primary Responsibility - Delivers informal and formal learning solutions, both virtually and in person, in a manner that engages the learner and produces desired outcomes
- Manages and responds to learner needs
- Ensures that learning is made available in effective platforms and delivered in a timely and effective manner
- Works with stakeholders, learners and colleagues to develop job aids, handouts, and interactive activities
- Works with colleagues to update existing facilitator guides accordingly
- Creates training plans, and coordinates the scheduling and resources necessary to deliver solutions
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise in 1 to 3 areas in health insurance or generic professional skills areas
- Establishes and communicates pre-work and follow-up learning activities with learners accordingly
- Assesses curriculum effectiveness, and reports and tracks learner participation and progress on an ongoing basis
Knowledge and Skills - Knowledge of adult learning principles, basic needs analysis and evaluation methods
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to manage multiple learning projects simultaneously with limited supervision
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Willingness to serve as a learning resource within team and with business partners
- Able to accommodate regional or domestic travel to deliver/support learning initiatives (10-25% a year)
- May be required to be on feet for extended periods of time in the classroom
Experience - One (1) year of experience in subject matter assigned required
- One (1) year of experience in a training, facilitation, or presenter role preferred
Education Required Education:

- Associates Degree in Adult Education, Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related area of study preferred
Working Conditions - Must be able to accommodate local travel
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving history required due to travel involved with this position (DMV check will be conducted to review candidate's driving record)
- Must be able to accommodate regional travel. (DMV check will be conducted to review candidate's driving record)
- Manual Dexterity Req: Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to effectively use a computer with all its components for prolonged periods of time and for the majority of required tasks
